Subject: [DNA] A New N. Euro R1b1c Haplotype Cluster ???
Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2007 09:55:36 -0500
Here is the latest set of y-comparsion tables on this apparent cluster: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dt25r5w_6fhmzg7
On the geographic side of things, those in the cluster who list an ancestral place of origin outside of North America are as follows:
Black (4Q9Z8) - Scotland
Waddell (67KJ9) - Scotland
Self (54XP8) - Melksham, Wiltshire, England
Poole (FXSWD) - England
Beal (MAQ47) - Herefordshire, England
Oakley (P295E) - Shropshire, England
Price (YF3FG) - Wales
Here are maps of the distribution of the cluster's surnames in Britain in 1881.
Self: http://tinyurl.com/2mds3g (recall that Self lists Wiltshire as place of origin)
Beal: http://tinyurl.com/3xytor (Beal lists Herefordshire as place of origin)
Oakley: http://tinyurl.com/3cuqmn (Oakley lists Shropshire as place of origin)
If anyone was interested enough to look at all those maps, let me know what you think.
