FT DNA by the way. Just realized I didn't mention that.

Elizabeth Kipp <> wrote: mt DNA results have arrived 4 weeks early (due 28 May 2007) and they are an exact match to mine (my sibling) which is great as there is one mutation that back-mutates in this particular set for H11 and I wondered if I could just be the only one who has back-mutated but we match so likely belong to this much smaller group that looks to be Scot-Irish. A perfect match with another person is available and they can trace their mtDNA back to 1772 with the Scot-Irish immigration to the Carolinas lead by Rev William Martin from County Antrim, Ireland. Their ancestor has the Martin surname but it is unknown whether they are related. As well there are two perfect matches on the Blood of the Isles database (Argyll, Scotland). I am still contemplating doing the mega test and may save that for later in the year. The more that you do the more intently you get into DNA research and I need a lot of time for paper records at the moment!

So for those who feel that results are slow this is good news. Still awaiting the rest of the 38-60 markers and subclade definition for both my brother and my husband but they are not due until 14 May and 21 May.
