Thank you again. I am very grateful for your help in interpreting our DNA
results.

I am probably the only member of this list who doesn't have Excel, so I
couldn't open the file, but I am fascinated by the way your study has refined the
different subgroups of I1a. Our family name is Britton. The earliest male
ancestor we have identified thus far was living in Virginia in the 17th
century and we are hoping to find his English ancestors.

After reading Saxons, Vikings, and Celts, I was expecting DNA results to
show that our male ancestor was Celtic, especially since Britton is a Celtic
name. I assume that being I1a raises the likelihood that the family was
still living somewhere in eastern England in the 17th century.

Do you know of any project studying I1a--AS7E?

Lindsey
