K2 is not "insignificant" in Europe, and has existed
there independently of any connection to Somalia or
Phoenicians for millenia. I think the only reason to
connect Jefferson to Africa is that it makes for an
interesting story, and a neat twist on the whole
Hemmings controversy.

There is no need to introduce any exotic elements to
the story if you only want to explain how haplogroup
K2 got to England.
