the network diagram which shows the Jefferson haplotype as closest to
Egyptian, Somali and Iberian haplotypes was based on just 8 markers. I don't
believe this can be considered conclusive evidence of any direct links
between the Jefferson paternal line and North Africa.

The variation seen amongst K2s of known or probable European ancestry is
such that clearly K2s arrived in Europe at different times and via several
different routes. With enough markers there is a clear split into at least
two major subgroups but we have very little data from outside of Europe to
compare with the long haplotypes of FTDNA customers.
