The problem with Y Search is that it indicates "(tested)" with Family
Tree and it could easily be presumed it would be the subclade that was
tested, when in fact it's just the customer had their y-dna tested
instead. I wished they would offer a color key or code for those like
myself that Deep SNP tested, or indicate such as "(SNP Verified)". I
went back through Y-Search and updated a few markers in which I had
recently tested but didn't bother adding in. Save for 4 markers and 7
awaiting results, I have maxed out the Advanced Order (all y-DNA
panels). There are several markers I have tested and not all the data
is available on Y-search for input. I suggest that anybody with R1b1c6
as a minimum invest into having 67 markers tested. I was a little
confused about your 385a/b analysis to mine. I also had the Kittler
method done and confirmed that my entries are correct in Y-Search.
Something that might be of interest are my autosomal results from both
panels. I have to say it is very confusing but if I did my homework
right, it looks like there's strong ethnical connections to the region
where my subclade is predominant. I've come up with pretty high
numbers for Madeira, Iberia, and interestingly Tunisia. I am little
perplexed with the STP analysis for Norway. I have relations in
Iceland but I don't believe there is a genetic lineage tied to the
Norse, however, I do know my maternal line is Germanic. Most of the
analysis is done with Omni-Pop 200.1 but looking at the frequency of
our subclade in Iberia and the Catalan speaking region which covers a
great portion of the ancient Iberian lands. I'm not surprised to see
autosomal results tie in to places like Madiera Is, Tunisia, The
Maghreb, and the Canary Islands. Southern and Eastern Iberia seems to
be the "homeland" for now.
