This will not be news to Mike Maddi, but Nicosia in the Sicilian province of
Enna is one of the locations to which settlers from Northern Italy migrated
during the 11th century, so an S28+ result is not that surprising for Q6WX5
(Amato). I believe that surname Lauria, Ysearch I.D. B7KRX, who reports his
family's origin as Potenza in Basilicata, would likely be S28+ for the same
reason: this was another center of settlement for northern Italians (here,
apparently from the Monferrato area of Piedmont) during that same period and
where a northern Gallo-Italian dialect is or was spoken as in Nicosia.

S28+ Johnson, Ysearch I.D. Y8BX3, is a genetic distance of 5 at 37 markers
from Lauria.
