Very good article because I am very interested in the Iberian J1 M267
history and pre-history.
The author's sample from América, the first baptized one (xUnited States) is
representative because they could get 33 438.2 samples and all were J1 M267,
what means that most probably any detected 438.2 haplotype coming from
population of Iberian stock in América is a J1 M267. The authors couldn't
find a Portuguese or Spanish population in Europe but they could find the
descendents in América. What means that most probably there's not a single
representative 438.2 population/sample of R1b's in the Iberian stock. As far
as I know it's not easy to find a R1b1c9 in Iberia too.
- So 438.2 is a real marker to find J1 M267 in the Iberian population
- J1 M267 in Iberia came from different places and sources. Not only from
the Arab or Jew population, but probably from different pre-historic and
historic waves like my Alan J1b M267 M365 hypothesis, armed people crossing
Europe and later crossing the Oceans and the Brazilian wilderness. I could
find a J1b M365 candidate in the article, the Reunion Island J1 that is
Ferrere, Ferreira from Portugal. I couldn't understand why Sorenson had 18.2
at 438 for the Portuguese J1b candidates there. Now it makes sense.
- The authors wrote that "list of the haplotypes used in the network
analysis is given as web-extra material". The network analysis is a kind of
J1 Fluxus network and I would love to understand the clusters there too. So
where is the list of extra haplotypes ?
