Well 9 out of the 12 seem to be associated with Clan Chattan.

In some cases it was not clear whether "Mc" or "Mac" was standard form.
These are a partial list of names which go with haplotypes which have been found to be I1b2a1-Isles-Scot M284+
Maybe one of our Celtic gurus can see a pattern here?
