What you say is true, but I am just being incredibly selfish, hoping HUGO is
R1b1c*. If Hugo is R1b1c*, and Watson and Venter are R1b1c9, any
differences should denote SNPs which are specifically found in R1b1c
somewhere, below the common ancestor of HUGO and the Watson/ Venter branch
of R1b1c9.

If HUGO is I1a, any differences with the Watson/ Venter branch, could
indicate SNPs anywhere back to the common ancestor 40,000+ years ago, and
they would be harder to sort through and locate their origin on the tree,
and many might be at less useful locations.

If you meant a comparison of Watson to Venter, (rather than to HUGO), if
both are R1b1c9, it might produces dozens or even hundreds of SNPs within
R1b1c9, which will be of no use to others who are not R1b1c9. I am pleased
for the R1b1c9's.... to a degree.... but selfishly, I still want more SNPs
in R1b1c*.
