Well, America's Stone Age Explorers argues that people in France in 17,000
BC were using technology pretty identical to what Eskimos use today. I
don't know if they've actually found remains of a sealskin boat, or they
simply believe that since these people hunted seals and made clothes and
tents, then of course they made sealskin boats. Also seal oil lamps. The
Saami and the Inuit are not more technologically advanced than ice age
people of Spain and France were. Or should I say that they were not
before they adopted modern ways of living.
