I thoroughly enjoyed Oppenheimer's book. His charts are most interesting.

I just ordered Oppenheimer's book and as a newbie I don't know if I made a mistake or not. I know others disagree with Oppenheimer on aspects of his book. I hope it doesn't get me off the right track as I am very much interested in British history and the DNA involved.

Does anyone have the low-down on the relationship between Sykes and
Oppenheimer? Each has written a number of popular books about
anthropological genetics and they must pass one another in the hall at
Oxford, but they do not cite or even acknowledge the existence of one
another, as near as I can tell.

Maybe this question is just about gossip and is therefor off-topic. If you
think so, please don't hesitate to respond off-list. In fact, it would be
helpful to me if respondents at least would send a copy of their responses
to my email address; I can't keep up with the list postings.
