I gotta go with this summation. I also have to agree with your comment that
it's unbelievable the editors found room for ALL those negatives and not the
ONE positive paragraph.
I am familiar, from several angles, with the hallmarks of coordinated press
campaigns, and this spate of negative publicity has all the earmarks --
saturate the market with a consistent message. It's used by corporations,
politicians, Hollywood, the music industry, anybody with a goal that involves
shaping public opinion. The combination of the 60 Minutes, the Newsweek and now
this article in such a short space of time makes me ask this question:
Is there a coordinated move afoot to discredit genetic genealogy and those
of us engaged in it, and if so, who is behind it and why?
