Dear Kim,
It seems to me you may be letting journalists writing about DNA off the hook
a bit. You say they are mostly sympathetic to DNA testing, yet their
articles exude negativity because their editors edit them that way. That's "the
devil made me do it" defense. I've written on many topics for lots of major
periodicals and know that writers have more say than that. If an editor tries
to distort your intent, you discuss it with them. If they insist on
butchering your article, you simply withdraw it.
