Lisa,

I didn't mean to say that journalists are sympathetic. I was talking about
other academics who write on the topic generally being sympathetic with
test users (which doesn't mean they are uncritical of the enterprise, but
they aren't out to persecute test users either). I think journalists (and
I hope the journalists whom I like and respect will forgive this) want a
good story. If that's telling a feel good story about test users or a
critical story---either storyline works. At least that's the impression I
get when I talk with them.
