I need to verify whether what I posted below is true. I genuinely saw an
article to this effect, and see new posts about it at
http://www.geneticsandhealth.com/2006/11/22/genebase-dna-ancestry-project/#comments
I thought I had even followed a link to the Genebase web site.

However, tonight I cannot seem to verify what company ancestry.com is
working with.

I found hints in Google that Ancestry.com may have teamed with GeneTree.
Not helping is that Ancestry.com had some similar project going in 2002, and
there is also confusion about the teaming of SMGF and GeneTree.

On the Ancestry.com DNA site, I had to search and search before I found
anything that said, which is fishy enough, but eventually I found broad
hints that it's Relative Genetics. See

http://www.dna.ancestry.com/faq.aspx;jsessionid=CC29BA6DDA50A75DEF3FCE2F855AEC15,
towards teh bottom of the page, where it talks alot about RElative Genetics.

People are asking on the surname lists if they should participate in
Ancestry.com's project, and if it's done through Genebase, they should
really be told an unqualified "no", but I don't want to say anything more
until I know what company it really is.
