This was my concern, John, and it categorically is not the case.

I even put notes on the blog about Genebase explaining it all.
Do make sure, though, that if you do business with Ancestry's genealogy
project, it really is Ancestry, because Genebase carefully gave their
project a very similar name that consists of the same words in a different
order.
I think it's safe to say that Genebase will never hook up with any of the
mainstream companies that do genealogical DNA testing. To do that needs
both an actual interest in genealogical DNA, and a desire matching that of
the other company to provide customer service. Not going to happen.
The other companies are pretty much reliable. They differ in customer
service, what tehy will test for, and fringe benefits.
FTDNA seems to do the best job with the most fringe benefits that actually
work, and the best upgrades. Their prices are midrange.
EA - Ethnic Ancestry? I don't think that's the right name, but anyway,
whoever EA is, they try hard and offer some tests that FTDNA does not or
atleast did not.
