I called FTDNA about buying a new chart and was told
no.
So, any of you all conference attendees want to see
me yours or a copy.

using this new tree for classification and SNP testing
sometime in the next few months. But that's just my
interpretation.

Mike:
Thanks a million for being so proactive in posting detailed information
from the Conference to dna-forums and here. You have ferreted out the
information that us obsessive genetic genealogists were anxious to learn (I
could kick myself now for not attending the Conference).
You have also answered the question that has been on everyone's mind in
relation to key SNPs. It has been brewing for two years now, but clearly
FTDNA will be offering "our" SNPs (respectively S21 and S28) and shortly we
will start to see increasing numbers of those identified as such in our
FTDNA match lists. Hopefully people will be inclined to include their data
in Ysearch and I can see that by perhaps mid 2008 we will have a much better
sense of the distribution of these SNPs - with, I expect, a few surprises.
We will still be plagued by the UK bias factor, but surely there will be a
scattering of those from the nether reaches of R1b territory who will test.
In addition, I can also forsee two to three publications within one to two
years, focusing on these and perhaps other R1b SNPs. I continue to nudge
well known researchers to take up our cause. Finally, for those of us who
are R1b and have seen so few relevant academic publications, our day in the
sun is
about to dawn.
