Ned,
I was in my 40's before I asked questions about family names and in my
fifties before I started doing Genealogy.

Before that life was to full and yes, I think it has to do with our own
mortality......

LOL, wonder if we all have a common marker that will identify the
genealogist... and we all share this marker... and thats why some are
interested and some are not... LOL

Hi Ned,
I was 39 when I started in genealogy but Alex Haley had just done the
mini series "Roots" and that captivated me and that is what caught my
interest and got me involved for the last 25 years and I have loved the
paper chase ever since. Now, you can figure my age which women refrain from
doing.. LOL !
