I also got such a message from Bennett, yesterday, and I was a little ticked
because I had only one pending request a few days old (for a surname project).
Not ticked at Bennett, but ticked at the person making the join request because
I had assumed he must have gone over my head and complained to FTDNA for me to
get such a message. I'm glad to hear others got the same message.
