Bonnie:
I've read the service agreement but am reluctant to reproduce it here
because it could conceivably be considered proprietary and that, for me,
discourages re-publication. What I see is a fairly comprehensive effort by
an Icelandic company to avoid legal entanglements in the various American
jurisdictions where its product may be sent. It doesn't strike me as an
attempt to comply with existing regulations prohibiting or even restricting
in some manner these transactions. It's more in the nature of boilerplate
language seeking to insulate against legislation that might impact their
business in the future. It looks like deCODEme is most interested in making
sure the person submitting a sample for analysis is who he or she says they
are and that it has been voluntarily obtained in accordance with all
existing laws in the jurisdictions having some rational interest in the
proposed transaction.
