the short answer is "Yes."
For 2 reasons:
(a) in the interest of Science, everyone's Mt-DNA, and if present Y-DNA, should be studied.

Even though that as of now C's mitochondria are not a part of your genetic heritage, it may well be the case that, if your family has lived in a small town for several generations, e.g., C's grandmother is in fact in your family tree.
I think every eldely person's DNA should be studied before it is too late.

Is there any value or benefit in having the daughter of the brother of my
paternal great grandfather tested?
My great grandfather, A Birnbach, had a brother B Birnbach. Both A & B are
deceased. B had a daughter named C, who is now very elderly.
Would there be any benefit to doing a DNA test of C? Why or why not?
