I used PAFSPLIT, a program I wrote myself back in 1994 for the old DOS
version of PAF 2.31, and it automatically stopped adding descendants of any
males.
This route would not be practical nowadays. My inspiration for including
that feature was an article by Dr. Thomas Roderick for the NEHGS about the
potential of mtDNA testing. It only took another six years for mtDNA testing
to become commercially available!
The general approach for a WorldConnect upload was originally suggested by
Gregg Bonner, back in 2003.
