I agree with Anne. We all have our preferences to which company we want to test with.
And as far as credentials and degrees goes Bob, many of us have different backgrounds and are more experienced than others in our different fields. Mine is working in government and politicians and that is off topic on this list so therefore Bob I can't tell you about my expertise in my field although yours happens to be in chemistry.
And besides that there are several newbies on this list that are trying to learn more about DNA and have been involved in genealogy for years and are just now adding DNA to their endeavors. I hope they don't get discouraged because of some comments made on this list.
I agree with everything Anne has said here.

Bob,
I'm not going to get into a --- contest with you. It's a matter of one's
priorities and you are certainly entitled to have your preferences, just as I
am. What I object to is your persistent implication that no other testing
company has the same quality of results and reliability of results as Sorenson
--- an assertion for which I never seen you produce statistical evidence.
Until you can, your assertions don't rise above the level of "personal opinion"
in my eyes, regardless of your educational background. Show me independent,
disinterested party data that proves Sorenson is more "reliable" or
"accurate". Turnaround time IS a factor of the staff size, equipment, and material to
be processed. Always has been and always will be (and yes I DID train in
operations research and management). I'm still waiting for my cousins' DNA
from SMGF after more than two YEARS. Doesn't Sorenson do SMGF's lab work too?
So talk to me about turnaround. On the basis of that turnaround, Sorenson
loses points dramatically. Of course, I suspect I know why their DNA has not
been completed.
