I hope everybody recognizes that "quote". It's a paraphrase on a
familiar joke. The fact is that we know empirically what "(tested)"
means in the haplogroup field on Ysearch, and it has nothing to do
with the haplogroup. It means, simply, that the Ysearch entry in
question was created by the automated upload feature from the FTDNA
personal results page -- which uploaded the haplotype. Similarly,
the "*" in the Ysearch haplogroup field means that the Ysearch entry
in question was *not* created by the automated upload feature.
