What it looks like to me re the "quibbling" is really just viewpoints from
the more scientific types vs viewpoints from some (or maybe just one...me) who
really don't understand all the terms and factors in the matches and how it
works. I guess "hope" is unscientific, but as people, that's how we
are...hopeful, yet appreciative of the scientific tools at our disposal that might
result in our "hope" becoming a scientific reality. "Can't we all just get
along?" ...and "Agree to Disagree"...etc...barf.

What could be more relevant to a list called "Genealogy - DNA" than a
discussion about why and how people ought to use DNA testing in their
genealogical investigations?
