The thing to grasp is that for every instance of a single marker in a
single haplotype pulling the ASD in one direction, you can expect an
equal and opposite pull somewhere else.

Calculating ASD for a single marker in a single pair of haplotypes
generates plenty of noise, which the reason we don't do it if we can
help it. Apart from that, I'm not sure you are making your objection
very clear.
