Bonnie,

I had found the same irregularities with the haplotree display which you
found. I emailed Max at FTDNA, and he emailed back within 5 minutes to say
that he was investigating the matter.

Based on list messages, some people seem to be getting the correct haplotree
display, but clearly you and I are not.

John.

Clades

Question: a member of one of my surname projects has, according to his
Haplotree, all the R1b Deep Clade tests on order, but there's no record
elsewhere on the GAP of his having ordered them. He has a rather unusual
haplotype, a deletion apparently on one of the first 12 markers. Is there
some chance that FTDNA themselves are running the tests in order to figure
out where he goes?

And if I want to write to FTDNA to find out, who would I be best advised to
write to?

I've been finding that the Haplotree animation doesn't always work right --
it sometimes shows a different person's haplotree from the one you think
you're looking at. Like, someone in haplogroup J showed an R1b haplotree
until I reloaded it. When I wrote to FTDNA about this, I got no reply.

Bonnie
