Hi Beth,

In addition to Al's helpful answer, I wanted to point out that "J2a2" is
the Karafet-Hammer nomenclature used by FTDNA, but in our ISOGG
nomenclature, it's J2a1b, one of the subclades of J2a1. The Karafet
tree does not recognize J2a1 because it has until now been defined by a
deletion in DYS413, which has a modal value of 17-17 within J2a1 and its
subclades (with slight variations, but always substantially lower values
than the values in clades like J2a* or J2b, outside of J2a1, which have
413 values of 20 and higher).

J2a1b is the haplogroup Dr. King belongs to, which tested positive for
L27 and negative for L24 -- and hasn't yet been tested for L25 and
L26. We certainly need members of this haplogroup to be tested for
those two SNPs.

Bonnie
