That is wonderful news - a drop in the FGS (mega) price on
the mtDNA. I expect to see some interesting geographical
relationships in the mtDNA, just as is seen in the Y-DNA.
I see so many new SNPs that have not been added to the
phylogenetic trees because only one coding region SNP is
listed at GenBank and the same SNP is in a private collection
hidden from view. It takes at least two to tango my friends.
I am encouraging those who either have been or will be tested
to publish at the NCBI. Ian Logan helps genealogists do
Two of us on this list have our very own new subclade because
the scientists in the Netherlands found us on GenBank and
labeled us H2a21b. This subclade would have been extended
out farther if more genealogists had chosen to list their results.
Unfortunately, PhyloTree.org also has missed some important
sub-clades that they could have added to the tree as well. I think
it is time for us to fertilize the tree(s) and grow some new branches.
