Hi Sonia,
Most genealogy programs are organized around recording offspring of heterosexual couples and so tracking genetic lines (that has always been the whole premise of genealogy).
Most programs such as Family Tree Maker have a notes section where you can record whatever additional facts about a person that do not fit into the standard mold, however.

Great questions.
Is there a genetic link? I want to know, just as anyone wants to know about
how hair color, eye color, lactose intolerance, toe length, and anything
else we can think of. A connected question is - does anyone know any
genealogy program that lets you enter a same sex married couple without
gender references (The typical programs make you put in genders and lead one
to being "husband" and the other "wife?"
If people aren't comfortable discussing it, then no one can look to see if
there is a common genetic thread. As for my lines, I'm pretty sure that
we're running above the expected 10% - at least on one side of the family.
Thanks Don.

Am I being shouted down for asking questions. I was reminded by some good
folks on this group that there are no stupid questions. Obviously some
here
think there are "socially unacceptable questions." J
