Why not? They recolonize western Europe during
the late glacial interstadial (12,700 - 10,800 BC),
seek refuge in the southern parts (perhaps in Iberia
or perhaps in southern France or in Italy) during the
Younger Dryas (10,800 - 9,600 BC) leaving its
offspring, R-M343, well suited to dominate the
current Holocene there.
