This was where I wanted a more definitive answer around being able to alter the thresholds in order to specifically search for distant relations and change the size of the HIRs. Also I expect to be flooded with matches within the Anabaptist project I'd like to have the ability to filter some of the matches out of the listing so that I can concentrate on specific subsets of interest. Being able to fiddle with the thresholds is something I would like to have access to.

Ann,
Would you be willing to explain (in lay terms) the technique for identifying identical by descent segments sufficient for Relative Finder to predict cousinship? I believe there are a couple of thresholds used cM and consecutive SNP length to characterize the segments. Longer segments indicating closer cousinship.
Regards,
Larry

It is in beta testing now, with no date set for general release. I believe
many/most of the beta testers are "project" administrators, who can recruit
people who are genetic genealogists and likely to be receptive to the notion
of autosomal testing. During the beta testing period, it is not possible to
contact our matches, so it remains to be seen how people will react when
contacted by total strangers who claim to be relatives :)
