I'm assuming here that you're not asking about whether or not they actually
provide the percentages in their product, as that is easy to verify.

The Native Americans came from Asia. Most of us who have documented Native
heritage from earlier tests also have some amount of Asian showing up on
those tests. The Native Americans and the Asians ancestors were one and the
same and the Natives here were without European admixture until in the past
few hundred to a thousand years.

Using your pedigree chart, if you have an ancestor 4 generations back in
your heritage that is Native, you would carry, on average, assuming that 50%
of the DNA is passed in each generation (which is not necessarily true but
is the best we can do at this time), then you would carry 6.25 Native DNA at
most. Most people's Native ancestor, at least those who are dealing with
the Eastern tribes and not the western tribes, are much further back in
time. Two more generatrions - at 6 generations, you would show 1.56%, more
or less, hence my comment about small amounts.

If I recall correctly, David Faux reported a block on his DNA that Anders
found to be shared with a Pima, someone in far Northern Europe, and David
who carries native ancestry. That is the only case I know of specifically,
but some remnants of Asian heritage are found in both Northeastern Europe in
haplogroup N and in the Hunnic invasion areas in haplogroup C, but these are
not to my knowledge showing up as Asian in autosomal tests.

It will be interesting to see what we find as we move forward with this
testing. In the past, few Europeans tested or were interested in admixture
as they assumed they are European, of course.

Which statements Ray?

Their website provides documentation on what you get with your ancestry
testing.

Roberta writes:

"In this test, you will receive your percent of ethnicity divided between
European, African and Asian. In our case in the US, Asian would equate to
Native heritage. So if your Native ancestor is far back in your pedigree
chart, you can expect to see a few percent of Asian heritage."

Where might one find the documentation proving these statements?
