Dear Nelda,

Thanks for your response. Yes, the information you provided is
helpful. Other things I would be interested in are the percentage of
similarity across all of the genome data using 23andMe's Compare Genes
function, the total shared gigabases of HIRs (Half Identical Regions) per
23andMe's Family Inheritance function, and in particular the total cMs of
Half Identical by Descent segments in 23andMe's Advanced Family Inheritance
function and the total number of such segments (if different from the total
number of segments given in Relative Finder). In particular, I am
interested in relationships at the 2nd cousin and more distant level. I am
also interested in the total cMs for segments longer than 4 or 5 cM is two
people's data has been analyzed by a version of Jim McMillan's program. The
column headings for the stats I am keeping are as follow:

1. relationship

2. percentage of DNA that should theoretically be shared in common

3. percentage of similarity across all of the genome data using 23andMe's
Compare Genes function

4. total gigabases of completely identical segments

5. total shared gigabases of HIRs (Half Identical Regions) per 23andMe's
Family Inheritance function

6. total cMs of Half Identical by Descent segments in 23andMe's Advanced
Family Inheritance function (These segments are longer than 5 cM)

7. total cMs for segments longer than 4 cM as per Wayne Kauffman's version
of Jim McMillan's program

8. total cMs for segments longer than 5 cM as per Wayne Kauffman's version
of Jim McMillan's program

9. total segments greater than 4 cM in length as per Wayne Kauffman's
version of Jim McMillan's program

10. total segments greater than 5 cM in length as per Wayne Kauffman's
version of Jim McMillan's program

11. total number of HIR (blue) segments appearing in a direct comparison in
23andMe's Family Inheritance feature

12. percentage of genome in common per 23andMe's Relative Finder function

I will try to get a chart of the data I have on the web in the near future.
This is a work in progress, but I think that if we can collect enough
information that at least some of you will find it of interest for
comparison purposes.

Sincerely,

Tim Janzen

Tim what information do you want, when a person finds a match?

my mother's father's side. We are considered 5th cousins, we share 1 segment
at 12% on chromosome 16. Is that what you want?
