Dear List.

A friend of mine was tested by SMGF. He has not any other laboratory test.
Before he creates his account on Ysearch, he 'discovered' he had to
modify his DYS19/394 value by "-1".

An Ysearch conversion page <http://www.ysearch.org/conversion_page.asp>;
says:

"Sorensen Molecular Genealogy Foundation (SMGF)
^ :-)
DYS 19/394: Substract 1 from the value reported by SMGF before entering it into Ysearch."

He wrote an email to Ysearch and got the same answer.

I am puzzled because I have been tested at three labs (NIST standard) and
all of them have the SAME value for my DYS19/394 and this value MATCHES
the Sorenson's result for my DYS19/394.

Sorenson Database Conversion Page
<http://www.smgf.org/ychromosome/marker_standards.jspx>;
says the same:
DYS19(ISFG) = DYS19(NIST) = DYS19(FTDNA).

Any clue, please?
