This study is looking directly at the mutation rate. It is, by
definition, an estimate of the germline rate.

Never mind that Zhiv were not examining mutation rates, but rather
variance accumulation in populations: Zhiv were looking at Y-STRs,
while the current study is looking at autosomal SNPs.
