Do not trust that only he was prolific.
As a very good example serves Camillus prince of Rohan *1801 +1892
(also a descendant of Charlemagne).
Since his wife Adelheid Eulalia Ludovica Maria princess
of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg could not have any children
he 'had to have' more that 80 bastards (one of them was 3xgrandfather
of my wife).

Descendants of Charlemagne should be more that 10,000 - 50,000 nowadays.
