Hello Gail & VInce

Yes, the 'Checker' program shows that 'T14783C'
is the mutation in the GenBank submission
- so is this another error in the data ?

Lots of researchers identify the mutations in the 'traces'
and then 'manually' make up a FASTA file - which is a very error-prone
method.

Unfortunately, I haven't got an email address for 'Corser & McLenachan'
in NewZealand; but it looks as if we should be contacting them about
possible errors in 2 sequences.

I checked the FASTA sequence posted on GenBank against the mutation
list in Ian's checker2 program, and it reported OK, so it indeed looks
as if this is the case.

If there is an error, it lies within the raw data - implying that the
sequence was assembled or scored incorrectly, but I doubt it.
