Is there a work-around to purge this from the email screen list?"

To me, a "script error" means the message contains a script -- a sign of
potentially serious trouble. The error may be a result of your anti-virus
(AV) program blocking the script from acting, or it may be the action of a
"Trojan horse".

Having deleted the message, you should do a complete virus scan and delete
any files the AV program says are infected. Some Trojans, however,
successfully hide from AV programs and may require more heavy-duty
cleansing.

You may also want to tell the (purported) sender of the message what
happened and that you do not want to receive this kind of message in the
future.
