Thank you for this detailed reply. This has raised the trio of haplogroups question, that I thought may be buried, again.

Here it is.

Clan Douglas have three main lines. Queensbury, Morton and Angus. Anne Hamilton married an Angus line Douglas, which ultimately ends up with a common ancestor to the Queensbury line. The circumstances are quite interesting. William Lord and First Earl of Douglas and Mar had first, James 2nd Earl of Douglas and Mar (Queensbury) and second George Earl of Angus (Angus). The second son according to history was illegitimate through an illicit affair and was born to the widow of Thomas Earl of Mar, Margaret Stewart.

The Queensbury line is R1a1
The Morton line is R1b1b2
And if you are correct the Angus line is I2b

Interesting mix up to say the least.
