Thanks for the warning. I had already thought of that, and that is what in
great part was causing me fits of complexity. it would have been easy to
just say yes and download these files into one of my existing files. I can
not imagine what a mess that would have produced. My problem seems to be
some old software which forces me to do things in a round about manner.

One word of advice before importing the GEDCOM - unless you want that
data permanently mixed among your own, you may wish to create a new
database and import the data into that one.
