Dear Didier,
These were the kit numbers and the earliest ancestors associated
with the haplotypes for the 9 haplogroup A haplotypes I used in my original
calculations in July 2009:
16415 Shadrick Wright b.1790-1800 Lancaster Co SC
60311 Frederick Bass; b.1838, Robeson Co., NC
78826 Matthew Stephens
55139 john boyd
78856 Robert A. Boyd
130540 Henry Dawson Roberts 1791 Nelson Co. VA >John>John
100274 William Rea, b.c. 1750, Greenville District, SC
4532 James Boyd
121019 Hugh Boyd
The above haplotypes can be divided into two groups: The first 3 and the
last 6. The first 3 are identical except that Kit #16415 has 464b=12. The
last 6 are also closely related. I get a TMRCA of the last 6 haplotypes at
around 1400-3000 years depending on the marker set used for the calculations
using the intraclade method. If I compare the two groups to each other and
do an interclade TMRCA estimate, I get the following.
10 slow markers: 161465
10 slow medium markers: 37551
10 medium markers: 5697
10 medium fast markers: 20821
10 fast markers: 3878
50 markers: 30309
10 YHRD markers using YHRD mutation rates: 17435
24 slow markers: 62654
It would be helpful to have more haplogroup A haplotypes, but perhaps it
wouldn't change the results all that much beyond what I included in my
original post at
http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/GENEALOGY-DNA/2009-07/12473842
75. It would also be helpful to have more haplogroup B and C haplotypes.
Sincerely,
Tim Janzen

Subject: [DNA] Re : How old is Y-Chromosome Adam?
I just posted on Dienekes blog that, as I posted some times ago on this list
I don't believe A haplogroup is at the root .
Even in this case the STR might not be suited for "long distance" (I mean
time) estimates. Anyway I would like to know which A haplogroup haplotypes
were used (the same for the other groups) in Tim Jansen calculation .
