Subject: [DNA] More new SNPs in Advanced menu

More new SNPs have been added at the bottom of the Advanced menu. For
R-M198 (what FTDNA calls R1a1), they include:
L448, L449 - Found in kit 183829 of Scotland, according to the Finch2
server. FTDNA's draft haplotree places these downstream from L170, which is
somewhat anomalous. Although L170 was originally found similarly in someone
of Scottish ancestry, it was also found in kit N4203 of Macedonia, who is
M417- . I had thought, therefore, that FTDNA considered L170 too "flippy"
for phylogenetic placement; but it's on the tree now.
PAGES00007 - Currently thought to be phylogenetically equivalent to M417.
Squecco's spreadsheet shows PAGES00007 to be positive for all in R-M198
except an M417- individual. Like M417, I suggest PAGES00007 for anyone in
R-M198 with a very unusual haplotype who has not also ordered a 23andMe
PAGES00068 - The draft haplotree places this downstream from M417. But
without any information at all as to who (or which ethnic group) tested
positive or negative for it, I find this test difficult to recommend except
for the most aggressive tester.
