Thomas has said that when the DYS464X test is analyzed, the results for DYF399X are viewed to help with the analysis, even though the DYF399X results will not be reported unless the customer has ordered them. This increases the accuracy of DYS464X results relative to DYS464 results. So DYS464X testing does have value outside Haplogroup R1b, even if everyone outside R1b only has g type alleles. I wonder how many people are looking for c type alleles outside R1b.

They are hg I so the DYS464X test wouldn't necessarily add information about the number of copies (all the copies would be "g" type).
DYF399X and/or DYF371X would be better.
