Ken, granted that behavior is not optimal or desired, but how much effect will it have when 37-marker haplotypes are used (172 haplotypes for M222)?

...Physical plausibility is sought. Subtracting the mean of the
STR repeat values from each repeat values has no physical sense.
The correl of haplotypes 20,20,21 and 25,25,27 is 1 because of those
subtractions of mean. So 1 minus that correlation is zero!
The correl of haplotypes 20,20,21 and 20,20,22 is 1 because of those
subtractions, etc.
