Subject: [DNA] are there some surnames notable for haplogroup unity?
Date: Wed, 28 Dec 2011 23:04:42 -0500
Reading Debbie Kennett's new book (which I'm enjoying very much), I took
note of one thing she cautioned would-be anyone launching a surname
project. That is, to expect a lot of haplogroup as well as haploytype
diversity within any surname population. Got me curious if anyone has
tabulated this and found any surnames that are pretty much confined to one
haplogroup and seem to originate from one locality and/or ancestor?
