Dear Mary Alice,
I don't consider this situation at all unusual. It seems probable
to me that there was a larger segment on Chromosome 9 that one of the
parents inherited who descends from an ancestor in common with the match
(person #3), but then due to crossover during meiosis one of the brothers
only received a smaller portion of the larger segment on Chromosome 9 and
the other brother received a different smaller portion of the larger segment
on Chromosome 9.
Sincerely,
Tim Janzen

Have a very puzzling situation; a match (person #3) tested at both FTDNA
FF
and 23Me, matches one of my brothers in FF, and another of my brothers in
23Me - even tho both these matches show in chromosome 9, the segments are
completely different locations. Would the difference in test companies
change the match location results?

Mary Alice
