I was informed some time ago, that the FTDNA public page could not be copyrighted by a project admin, even if a copyright banner had been placed on it by such admin. This is as it should be; no admin 'owns' FTDNA data. There are admins who want to appoint themselves the controller of all project information, to the detriment of its members when not maintained properly. If you have ever been in such a project, you know what I mean!
First of all, MyHeritage did not “come in and copy anything. It was provided to them by Family Tree DNA, as a result of their partnership, to enable them to integrate the Family Tree DNA products into their website.
> Second, the ENTIRE CONTENTS of your private website has not been given to MyHeritage. The ONLY information that is being displayed on the MyHeritage site is the few paragraphs that you entered into the Description field on the Project Profile page of your Family Tree DNA project. This text is stored in FTDNA’s database because YOU entered it there. Nobody went to your private website and copied your text without your permission.
A better way to Internet
