Subject: [DNA] Falsely positive matches of Autosomal results
Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2017 08:59:09 +0100
I don' know how many list members follow Debbie Kennett's blog
but the items there are always very interesting;
and no more so than this one from a few days ago about her family's matches.
Debbie says FTDNA's Family Finder gives her 1,217 matches;
but only 501 match her father and 402 match her mother.
And this appears to indicate that 26% of her matches
do not appear in the match lists of either of her parents.
Perhaps readers would like to comment on this;
and suggest how search parameters might be changed
to decrease the number of falsely positive results,
and yet not lose significant matches.
